OCC Releases CRA Evaluation for 70 National Banks

WASHINGTON, DC — The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) today released a list of Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) performance evaluations that became public during the period of April 15 through May 14. The list contains only national banks and insured federal branches of foreign banks that have received ratings. The possible ratings are outstanding, satisfactory, needs to improve, and substantial noncompliance.

Of the 70 evaluations made public this month 23 were rated outstanding and 46 were rated satisfactory and one was rated needs to improve. The OCC's World Wide Website (http:\www.occ.treas.gov) offers access to a searchable list of all public CRA evaluations (http:\\www.occ.treas.gov\cra\crasrch.htm) and to a list of those available electronically (http:\\www.occ.treas. gov\cra\evallst.htm). Only evaluations begun after January 1, 1996 will be available electronically; they will be indicated by "yes" in the "on web?" column. This month 29 electronic evaluations are being posted.
